Clear polyester resin is a substitute for liquid acrylic - it is very clear and you can embed items inside the resin casting. Note: We do offer an Embedment Service and can cast items in solid acrylic Plexiglass up to 24" x 24" square and 1" thick. Hundreds of existing molds can be used to create awards and momentos.

This is the good stuff.
Mixing resin is a bit of an art. Experiment. Write down what you do, what temperature the resin is, what the room temp is, and take notice of humidity. All these factors can, and will, affect your casting. This product can be a substitute for liquid acrylic (not available through us) which takes an autoclave to cure castings.
Our product, Weld-On #40 is 75% pure acrylic monomer and is used for bonding acrylics.
Remember, the working life of your "pot" of resin is shorter when there is more resin in it. This also means that the thicker you pour a casting, the shorter the time to catalyzing - and the more HEAT that gets generated.
Tip: Try a sample casting first. See what happens. Then adjust and pour the real thing.
