WELD-ON 10 is formulated for large PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) pipe and fittings, but has been found to bond many
other plastics and non plastics. Preliminary tests show good bond strength with PVC (vinyl) – rigid and flexible
(with low plasticizer content), ABS, polycarbonate, styrene, acrylics, butyrate, hard rubber and possibly others not
yet tested. It also bonds well to steel (plastics to steel or steel to itself), aluminum (not anodized) and other
metals, concrete, and other substrates. It does not bond well to Neoprene or other synthetic rubber, Delrin,
Celcon, and a few other plastics.

WELD-ON 10 is recommended for a variety of applications due to its high strength and versatility as a structural
adhesive. It is used in the sign assembly industry, for bonding different metals to itself, or a variety of plastics. It
also has many uses in other fabrication industries that bond ABS, acrylic, polycarbonate, PVC, as well as other
plastics and substrates.

WELD-ON 10 is a two-part, white, high strength adhesive. It cures by the reaction of Component A (Base Resin)
with Component B (Catalyst).

Lap joint bond strength is based on using ” substrate with 1 square inch bonding area.

• METHOD (A) -- WELD-ON 10 is packaged in pre-measured kits so that catalyst “B“ may be mixed directly into
base resin A and used at once. The ratio is 100 parts of A to 13 parts “B“ by weight, so smaller mixes may be
made up. After mixture, pot life is about 30 minutes at 70ºF. Cure of an applied film is about 4 hours at 70ºF.
Higher strength is reached in 24 to 48 hours. Cure may be speeded up in some applications either by applying
heat to the glue line, about 150ºF, or by using additional catalyst. A mixture of 100 parts “A” with 25 parts “B” by
weight will substantially decrease both cure time and pot life. However, where highest strength is more important
than speed of cure, we would recommend the mixture as given.

• METHOD (B) -- A unique property of WELD-ON 10 is its ability to cure by simple contact of Component “A “
with Component “B”. This means that the user may apply a coat of A to one substrate and a coat of B to the other,
then assemble the parts ensuring good contact of “A” with “B” throughout the glue line. Use of this method
eliminates pot life limitations. Coat film of B on nonporous substrate. Part “A” (resin) may be used more
generously on the other substrate, porous or nonporous. Where a large gap is to be filled, apply catalyst to both
surfaces before applying “A”. For ABS or Styrene after coating “B” (catalyst), allow it to dry for about 5 minutes
before applying “A “(resin).

• NOTE: Where METHOD “B” is chosen, be sure that catalyst “B” will have sufficient adhesion to the surface
coated by it because the film of catalyst B can prevent good contact by resin A. In general, the “A” method of pre-mixing
will provide faster cure and higher strength.


• PREPARATION OF SUBSTRATES: Where there are hard, glossy surfaces such as glass, metal, Bakelite
(phenolic) enamel or ceramic, abrading (sanding) and priming with a degreasing solvent are recommended and in
some cases are essential to good adhesion. Chlorinated solvents, MEK, acetone, or even rubbing alcohol (iso-propyl)
may be used for removing grease or dirt.

When components are stored between 45ºF and 75ºF, 12 months shelf life can be expected in unopened

WELD-ON 10 is a flammable reactive adhesive. It is considered a hazardous material. In conformance with
Federal Hazardous Substances Labeling Act, the following hazards and precautions are given. Purchasers who
may repackage this product must also conform to all local, state, and federal labeling, safety and other

Keep out of reach of children. Do not take internally. Keep away from heat, spark, open flame and other sources
of ignition. Keep container closed when not in use. Store in the shade between 45ºF and 75ºF. Use only with
adequate ventilation. Avoid breathing vapors. Atmospheric levels should be maintained below established
exposure limit values. See Section II of MSDS. If airborne concentrations exceed these limits, use a supplied air
respirator. Do not use a chemical cartridge respirator. For emergencies and other conditions where short-term
exposure may be exceeded, use an approved positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus. In confined
areas, use a positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). Do not smoke, eat or drink while
working with this product. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Do not smoke, eat or drink while working
with this product. May cause eye injury. Protective equipment such as gloves, safety goggles and impervious
apron should be used. Carefully read Material Safety Data Sheets and follow all precautions. Component “A”
contains Methyl Methacrylate Monomer (80-62-6). Component “B” contains Methyl Ethyl Ketone (78-93-3 and
Benzoyl Peroxide (94-36-0). Do not use this product for other than intended use.
"Title Ill Section 313 Supplier Notification": This product contains toxic chemicals subject to the reporting
requirements of Section 313 of the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act of 1986 and of
40CFR372. This information must be included in all MSDS’s that are copied and distributed for this material.

Inhalation: If ill effects from inhalation, remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing
is difficult, give oxygen. Call physician.

Eye or Skin Contact: Flush with plenty of water for 15 minutes. If irritation persists, get medical attention.
Ingestion: If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Contact physician immediately.

Every batch of this cement is checked to assure that consistent quality is maintained. An infrared absorption
curve is recorded for each batch to ensure that this cement is properly formulated. Samples are taken from all
batches and kept for a period of at least one year. A batch identification code is stamped on each can.
