Pattern Orientation: The pattern orientation of the Chrysalis HD patterns matches the photos as if you are looking at the sheet 48" wide x 96" tall. This is important when you ask us to cut to a series of panels - we need to know the orientation of the pattern. Our 24"x48" panels will have the pattern in the same direction as a 48"x96" and a 24"x96" sheet. Since the 48"x48" sheet is 1/2 sheet - you can turn it in either direction....

Through the fusion of design and technology and in partnership with Eastman Chemical Company, Chrysalis HD introduces the next generation of architectural resin panels. The demand for architectural resin panels is expanding across all markets, presenting the woodworking industry with new applications, new customers and new margin opportunity. A completely different material used in interiors than Plexiglass acrylic sheet.

Chrysalis HD is made from Spectar Copolyester extruded into plastic sheet that is sparkling clear, tough, chemically resistant, odor-free, versatile, easy to work with and affordable. Its toughness allows fabricators to use thinner-gauge sheet than with other common materials, resulting in lower material costs. Chrysalis HD will not crystallize or develop a crystalline haze. Mild cleaning solutions will not turn Spectar Copolyester white. It is easy to fabricate, allowing greater design freedom. It can be laser cut, routed, welded, drilled, die-punched, bent hot or cold, or joined by screws, rivets, or bolts. It can also be cut on conventional table, band, or radial-arm saws with blades commonly used for plastic. Chrysalis HD can be vacuum-formed at lower temperatures than other plastics without pre-drying the sheet. Chrysalis HD can be finished easily. Its edges can be polished by using commercial edge-finishing equipment, sanding, and solvents, flame-polishing or buffing. It forms clear, strong bonds with commercially available cements and solvents. Surface scratches or scuff marks can be removed using a common heat gun.

Care and Cleaning

For cleaning and polishing light scratches, the following products may be used: Novus Plastic Polish Systems

You may clean Chrysalis with Simple Green, Mr. Clean All in one, Formula 409, Green Works Glass & Surface Cleaner, Glass Plus, Joy, AJAX non-abrasive cleaner, Pine Spic-n-Span, Ultra Pine Mr. Clean, Pine Sol, and Fantastik or any mild detergent, and a soft scratch free sponge, cloth, or chamois to remove most stains with light gentle pressure so as not to scratch surface.

Do not use Lysol all purpose cleaner, Lysol Citrus Disinfecting, Lysol Original Disinfectant, Spic-n-Span, Mr. Clean (Original), Top.Job, Spray Power, Toilet Bowl Cleaner, Comet, Chlorine Bleach, any Clorox Cleaner, straight ammonia, any rubbing alcohol or any solvent compound because of possible discoloration.

More stubborn stains can be removed using 3 M Finesse-It compounds according to instructions. Never use solvent containing cleaning liquids or compounds.

Do not use acetone, alcohol, gasoline, benzene, lacquer thinner, chlorinated solvents, kerosene, hexane, MIBK, MEK or aliphatic naphtha, or gritty abrasive scouring compounds, or alkaline cleaners including modified ammonia or quaternary ammonium compounds to clean Chrysalis sheet as damage to the sheet will occur. Do not use squeegee, scraper, or synthetic rags that may scratch surface. Kitchen paper towels contain calcium carbonate which will scratch the surface. Never scrub Chrysalis sheet surface. Gently pat or wipe surface with a soft scratch free cloth to reduce scratching material surface.
